'Quiz Cramer (and Mark Cuban)'

The student audience asked Jim and Mark very general questions about their personal experience that led them to where they are today, so there were no fresh stock picks...

However, the last question was very interesting, and Jim had a really great response in our opinion...

Q:  You've both been very successful entreprenuers... You've both been very involved in the internet.  What's the next big thing on the web?

Jim:   For me, the next big thing... Let me just give you a little thought on the web... I think the web's making TV small in the way that TV made the radio small.  And I think the web is fabulous and that your generation knows it better than mine.

When I'm out with people with great companies, I realize that they should be reaching out... putting people in their 20s in high-level positions, because they're missing the boat; they're just getting it from their kids.

Mark Cuban then commented:   I'm taking the exact opposite (view)... The web is old news.  You guys are 18-years-old.  It's been around most of your lives.  It's old.  Get onto the next thing.  The internet's nothing new.  It's like electricity used to be a big deal.  Go find the next thing!

SPAR 24.43 24.88 'Pitching Jim'

Student tried to pitch the stock, SPAR to Jim...

Jim:
Why is that money in the bank, given that that's a heavily cyclical business, and people are reluctant?... I mean, a lot of the end markets for SPAR aren't doing that well.

  RKT 34.57 34.69 'Pitching Jim'

Student tried to pitch the stock, RKT to Jim...

Jim:
I like short action... I like both of these ideas so far.
  PLT 23.59 23.59 'Pitching Jim'

Student tried to pitch the stock, PLT to Jim...

Jim:
I had the management on.  It was a disappointing quarter.  I was doing it ahead of California (upcoming new law), saying that you had to have hands-free... What's the big data point that's going to turn this stock?

Look, PLT, RKT, SPAR - all controversial names.  I like controversy.

'MON-BACK
