BSX

12.24

12.10

Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX)

BSX -  BSX is not my favorite heart play.  My favorite heart play is St. Jude (STJ*) which, even though it pre-announced, it is still below where it pre-announced, which is wrong!  I say, no BSX... I don't like that balance sheet... Yes, to STJ*...

AVY

50.57

50.25

Avery Dennison Corporation (AVY)

AVY -  Well, you know, it's got adhesives and, unfortunately, they're jacking up the price on the raw costs...  That said, AVY has been a stock that I've followed since 1982, and I like it very much.  It's never really gone nuts to the upside, but it's well-run management.  I think it will work its way higher.

CY

20.73

20.64

Cypress Semiconductor (CY)

CY -  This stock has had a spiral down like I cannot believe.  You know what?  We've got to call T.J. Rodgers (CEO) back.  We had him on, we did our due diligence...  He said that all the businesses were humming.  You've have the solar business too, that's buried within it.  I went out on a limb and said to buy it.  I've been wrong.  The limb is sawed off...  We've got to get T.J. Rodgers back.  I don't even know... I didn't think it was that bad a quarter, I really didn't...  All the techs are selling off, but we've got to find out more.  Make a note of that...

INFY

39.94

41.90

Infosys Technologies Ltd. (INFY)

INFY -  Indian consulting not working for me.  I recommended Accenture (ACN) as the way to play India...  I like ACN better.   Now, I also want to say that, last night, I said I like Tata Motors (TTM)... but they may overpay for the Ford (F) division, Jaguar...   I want to be sure that people understand that there could be an event at TTM that may not be good...

AKAM

32.41

32.29

Akamai Technologies Inc. (AKAM)

AKAM -  I played AKAM last year, because they do the fast-motion video.  AKAM reported a great quarter last night.  I am thrilled to see them back in action.  By the way, you know who else reported a pretty good quarter - but only one - is Level 3 (LVLT)...  Those are both plays on excess capacity, and how to put it through the web.  I like AKAM, but I should have liked it yesterday.  LVLT... I need to see one more good quarter of cash flow, before I go out on a limb again, since I got my head cut off...

LFC

56.24

55.88

China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (LFC)

LFC -  That's not my favorite Chinese play.  I've been recommending Gushan (GU).  I like Focus Media (FMCN), ahead of the Olympics... I think that Baidu.com (BIDU) is good down here.  But I will tell you that LFC is good.  I didn't like the financials when it first started, but I think it's a good play...  That's alright...

RVBD

19.38

19.47

Riverbed Technology, Inc. (RVBD)

RVBD -  We recommended it at $19-20, and said it was rock bottom...  Then, they reported an unbelievably-great quarter.  The stock had flown to $23, but the guidance they offered was even more downbeat than Cisco...  Now the stock's back to where we recommended it.  I still believe.  I think the guidance was sandbagged... I think the stock has got a floor here.  I want to buy RVBD.  I like their technology...

AXP

46.45

45.90

American Express (AXP)

AXP -  I don't think we'll see the lows again (in the financial stocks) but, I've got to tell you, you're on one of my least-favorite horses...  I feel like AXP has pretty much lost its way... which I find surprising.  I mean, I'm a cardholder.  I don't know anyone who isn't a cardholder...  I actually prefer Capital One (COF) to AXP.  Their loss ratio is not as bad as I thought.  They're buying back shares.  They're better than I thought... Now, let me also emphasize, by the way, that I think that - if you want to play the financials - the safest one is still Hudson City Bancorp (HCBK).  I like Wells Fargo (WFC) here, and I'm warming up to Wachovia Bank (WB), because they raised the capital, and I believe they're better than Wall Street thinks!

TGI

57.08

56.70

Triumph Group Inc. (TGI)

TGI -  You know, ever since Boeing (BA)'s been having problems with that Dreamliner, and the parts and supplies, I have had to pull in my considerable horns on everything (buzzer sounds) that goes into a Dreamliner... Don't buy, don't buy... everything that goes into Boeing frankly.  I cannot get behind that stock one bit...

JBLU

7.23

7.29

JetBlue Airways Corporation (JBLU)

JBLU -  No, you don't need help with JBLU.  I want you to sell, sell, sell JBLU...  I don't think there's anything there... Sell, sell, sell!...  You just had a really big run on takeover talk.  I don't want to be there at all.

ESI

81.28

81.26

ITT Educational Services Inc. (ESI)

ESI -  You know, I like Apollo (APOL) more than I like ESI.  I like it, but then APOL put up the better numbers.  Let's go with APOL, and let's keep ESI on hold.  All right, let throw in one...  I think ITT Corporation (ITT) is absolutely terrific, and they have got, I think, one of the best product portfolios, for this stage of the cycle, along with Honeywell (HON), United Technologies (UTX), and Emerson (EMR).  All of those, I bless right here, right now.

A Charitable Trust stock. - An asterisk next to a stock symbol indicates that Jim mentioned it is a stock that he manages within
his charitable trust portfolio.  You can see the complete portfolio
of stocks here >>

Thumbs up - indicates he would buy the stock or, at the very least, not sell the stock.  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Thumbs down - indicates he has said not to buy or to sell the stock, based on his comments  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Back up the truck - indicated by Jim, when he says the stock is so good, that he would do a 'mon-back' on the stock... In other words, this is the sound someone would say to a truck driver, "Come on back... " as he is "backing up the truck" to load up on his cargo.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.

Stumped. - Of the 2,000+ stocks that Jim Cramer has in his head, for which he has an informed opinion, he sometimes comes across a caller with a stock he does not know well enough to opine on...  He then indicates he is stumped and will have to come back to it, after he does some homework of his own on the stock.  This usually occurs during the Lightning Round, when Jim does not know in advance who is calling, or what their stock question is about.

Definitions of key phrases used by Jim, known as "Cramerisms":

Definition:   'Pull the trigger' is Jim's phrase for making the decision at that point to trade - either to 'buy' or to 'sell' (although he usually uses the phrase for buying), as if to say you should feel comfortable enough to make the final decision without looking back...

Definition:   'Ring the Register' is Jim's phrase for selling a stock, and making it a final sale, that you should not look back on.  Put it behind you.

Definition:  'Let It Come In' indicates how you may wait for it to pull back, or have the stock price come down briefly, as your chance (after letting it come in) to buy the rest of your position (i.e., total number of shares you own in that stock).

Definition:  'backing it up' or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's phrase for the metaphor of backing up a truck to load up on a stock by buying it.  'Mon-back is short for the imaginary worker saying, 'Come on back...' as the truck is backing up to receive its load... Notice that we use the little truck icon to indicate where Jim has mentioned this.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.
