CTB

19.28

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (CTB)

CTB -  I don't want to be levered to that.  It's like an airline stock for me.  This stock has been too strong frankly.  I want to take profits here - sell, sell, sell!... It's been doing very well. If you want to own a tire stock, I'm going to recommend Goodyear Tire (GT), because of their massive restructuring they've been doing.  But I tend not to want to recommend tire stocks, other than the time I recommended GT, because of the union breakthrough.  I'm not going there...

MHS

45.78

45.38

MedcoHealth Solutions Inc. (MHS)

MHS -  Aw, c'mon, that's no house of pain, that's house of pleasure...  I was looking to buy that thing for my charitable trust today.  I can't believe that stock has fallen 9 points.  It's a defensive stock.  People are selling the defensive stocks right now.  That's a mistake.  Until 2012, one drug after another comes off patent, they collect all the drugs, they do mail order drugs.  I think MHS had a great quarter.  You should pull the trigger and buy more there.

ATO

26.61

26.51

Atmos Energy Corp. (ATO)

ATO -  If you want a distribution stock, I have been recommending Kinder Morgan (KMP).  KMP is a better distribution play. I like Sempra Energy (SRE) better as a distribution play.  I don't like your distribution play.  I'm not going to recommend it.  Sell, sell, sell!   Why are you doing simple distribution plays when you should be into something like an EnCana  (ECA) or a Southwestern Energy (SWN), or a Devon Energy (DVN) on a pullback, or an XTO (XTO*) on a pullback... I want you to get more aggressive.  If you're younger, get more aggressive!

AMGN

45.53

44.98

Amgen Inc. (AMGN)

AMGN -  No, no.  I'm not for AMGN.  I like the Genentech Inc. (DNA), and the Evastin story's going to play out even more... there's more to it.  Right now, right here, I am going to tell people once again... Fred Hassen (CEO of Schering-Plough (SGP*)...  I have bought a ton of this for my charitable trust... And, if it weren't such a big position already for my trust, I would buy more... (buzzer sounds)...  I think that SGP* is the cheapest pharmaceutical stock...  It's not getting any credit for the Sugammadex, which is an unbelievable anesthetic drug, that will be used, I believe, in every operating room in the country in two years...  No credit whatsoever for the Organon acquisition...  The stock is barely up from when he got there.  He bought a couple of million dollars worth of stock.  SGP* is the only undervalued stock that I know.

YUM

35.29

35.00

Yum! Brands Inc. (YUM)

YUM -  I like Novak (CEO) very much.  I think he's great.  I think that food inflation is everywhere, because we've demanded food inflation, because President Bush and Hillary Clinton and everybody is in favor of ethanol, which you know I think is just the dumbest thing ever, because it's jacking up the price of food for poor people...  But Kentucky Fried Chicken is selling like mad in China.  It's going to be big in Russia, big in India...  Taco Bell, a major, major comeback this particular quarter, because year-over-year there was e-coli problems... What I am saying to you is buy half your YUM now, and then let Bernanke take the market down, and buy the other half.  I think YUM is the best food story out there...

A Charitable Trust stock. - An asterisk next to a stock symbol indicates that Jim mentioned it is a stock that he manages within
his charitable trust portfolio.  You can see the complete portfolio
of stocks here >>

Thumbs up - indicates he would buy the stock or, at the very least, not sell the stock.  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Thumbs down - indicates he has said not to buy or to sell the stock, based on his comments  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Back up the truck - indicated by Jim, when he says the stock is so good, that he would do a 'mon-back' on the stock... In other words, this is the sound someone would say to a truck driver, "Come on back... " as he is "backing up the truck" to load up on his cargo.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.

Stumped. - Of the 2,000+ stocks that Jim Cramer has in his head, for which he has an informed opinion, he sometimes comes across a caller with a stock he does not know well enough to opine on...  He then indicates he is stumped and will have to come back to it, after he does some homework of his own on the stock.  This usually occurs during the Lightning Round, when Jim does not know in advance who is calling, or what their stock question is about.

Definitions of key phrases used by Jim, known as "Cramerisms":

Definition:   'Pull the trigger' is Jim's phrase for making the decision at that point to trade - either to 'buy' or to 'sell' (although he usually uses the phrase for buying), as if to say you should feel comfortable enough to make the final decision without looking back...

Definition:   'Ring the Register' is Jim's phrase for selling a stock, and making it a final sale, that you should not look back on.  Put it behind you.

Definition:  'Let It Come In' indicates how you may wait for it to pull back, or have the stock price come down briefly, as your chance (after letting it come in) to buy the rest of your position (i.e., total number of shares you own in that stock).

Definition:  'backing it up' or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's phrase for the metaphor of backing up a truck to load up on a stock by buying it.  'Mon-back is short for the imaginary worker saying, 'Come on back...' as the truck is backing up to receive its load... Notice that we use the little truck icon to indicate where Jim has mentioned this.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.
