Linn Energy, LLC (LINE)
LINE - Why is that
stock... why is that company not
doing well? I think
they're hedged the wrong way.
This is a great quandary to me.
Every other company in that
industry is doing well, because
they're letting the natural gas
run! I think this company
is the wrong horse! I
think you should take a look at
Chesapeake (CHK).
Aubrey McClennan (CHK's CEO) is
looking at it... He's buying
it... You should buy it.

AA |

Alcoa, Inc. (AA)
AA - AA is a sign that
there is no worldwide recession,
because that stock does not seem
to want to go down... That
said, it is not my favorite
mineral company. If you
want to own my favorite mineral
company - on a pullback - it's
going to be
Freeport-McMoRan (FCX*),
which I own for
my charitable trust, or, right
now, if you're really desperate
to buy one, why not buy
CVRD (RIO)?...
But RIO is not down nearly as
much... I think those are better
than yours.

USU |

USEC Inc. (USU)
USU - Honestly, this
has been pulled back a lot...
We've been talking about it a
lot... This stock has been
completely crushed... They
have a business model I don't
like, which is spec...
uranium... to try to beat...
This is the swords and the
plowshare thing. I think
that, if you want uranium, I
would go with
Mosaic (MOS),
which has a nice bit of uranium,
or a new one... I am thinking
that this Agnico-Eagle (AEM)
just bought a nice piece of
uranium company, and you've got
gold with it.

RIG |
139.25 |
138.56 |
Transocean Inc. (RIG)
RIG - All right,
now... I always talk about
my wins. How about talking
about something I did stupidly.
I got concerned when I saw
Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI)
report not a great quarter...
when I saw Smith
International Inc. (SII)
report not a great quarter...
when I saw
Schlumberger (SLB)
go from $100, down to $80...
that I thought RIG would not
report a good number... and I
sold the stock - albeit for a
nice gain - for (his
charitable trust)... That
was a mistake. RIG is
coming back down now. I
think that RIG is the single
most-levered company to oil and
offshore drilling. And, if
that stock gets below $130, I'm
getting back in it.
It's best in show. What a
blowout number they reported.
Price target to buy: Below
$130.00

ROCK |

Gibraltar Industries,
Inc. (ROCK)
ROCK - Can I send you
to
Nucor (NUE)?
Do you mind if I send you to
NUE?... You know, this has
a lot of building products which
we know from
Home Depot (HD)
that we don't want to have
anything to do with... I
think, if you want a kind of
steel, mineral play... NUE,
which just bought a nice scrap
business... is a better play.
And, by the way, when you listen
to a guy who I think the world
of... (Ken)
Heebner, whom I recommend in
my funds...
He agrees with me that the steel
companies are really, really
terrific.
Stay Mad For Life , by the way...
where I actually recommend some
mutual funds...

TEF |

Telefonica SA (TEF)
TEF - You know, this
is one where they are... When we
looked at these, I felt that
this was an over-exploited name,
and it was in basic tel in
Spain... (buzzer sounds)...
which really didn't interest me.
I mean, honestly, I would much
rather have you be in
America Movil (AMX),
which a lot of people are
shorting right now... If
you want to have growth in Latin
America... This company also
does some business in Mexico and
the Dominican Republic... TEF
wants to be bigger in that part
of the world, but they're really
kind of just, in the end,
playing in Spain, and I don't
want that.

Google (GOOG)
GOOG - The four
horsemen... which we did
officially abandon... Now,
Apple Inc. (AAPL)
and
Amazon.com (AMZN)
are going to do nothing.
They're a consumer spend play. Google Inc. (GOOG)...
I think advertising has slowed
on the web. That is not a
good stock here. It can go
to $400. Of them all, the
best one is Research
In Motion (RIMM)
but, in the end, high-multiple
stocks, levered to consumer
spending are not a place to
be... I wish I could say
some good things about GOOG.
I know there've been some
terrific defenses being done of
GOOG... but I see a stock that's
going lower and, until it gets
to a point where I feel
comfortable that the earnings
estimates are going to go up,
not down, I will not stick with
GOOG...
