WMT

49.82

49.34

Wal-Mart (WMT)

WMT -  All right, listen to this... Goldman Sachs downgraded WMT this week... she's wrong.  We are still in recession mode.  We are not yet ready to look at the new stocks.  I think WMT's going to deliver a great quarter.  I think America's in a tradedown mode... That's why I recommended Hormel (HRL), SPAM, this week.  I think WMT's a winner.  I think it can inch toward $52-53.

Price target:  $52.00-$53.00

BTU

52.36

50.82

Peabody Energy Corp. (BTU)

BTU -  There is an unbelievable battle going on between the shorts and the longs in BTU.  And the reason is very clear... because, if the democrats get in, people feel that coal is going to be banished.  That's wrong.  We'll finally have standards.  I am not a bear on coal, with oil at $110, but, may I just tell you that, as much as I like BTU, and BTU is the best, absolutely, Arch Coal (ACI) is #2, and then Patriot Coal (PCX), all the way, deep third...  I like natural gas better... We have... Apache (APA) is doing great...  I like Anadarko (APC) very much, and one of the stocks that was up in a bad week... Chesapeake (CHK)...   So I like all of them more than your BTU...

APA

PG

66.74

66.00

Procter & Gamble Co. (PG)

PG -  PG is bullish!  And why are they bullish?  They are in the process... they're getting rid of the divisions that are not making money...  They are committed to raising their dividend.  Great balance sheet... great buyback...

CLB

122.40

120.42

Core Laboratories NV (CLB)

CLB -  There was a moment today when CLB, and when Oceaneering (OII)... those are my two favorites... also the FMC Technologies, Inc. (FTI)... CLB was hanging in there...  People have to understand that, when you are thinking about oil at $110, what you have to be thinking is, how do I get that marginal barrel out of an oil well that I might have closed?...  And the answer is, you hire CLB.  CLB, once again - even at $122, it's down 30 points - is a buy.  I'd pull the trigger here.  Now, one thing I want to point out about CLB...  It's $122 stock...  When the (oil) futures go down, it tends to trade in... If you want to buy 100, buy 25 and then wait two points... scale down, scale in...

AGN

55.74

55.01

Allergan Inc. (AGN)

AGN -  I have been absolutely amazed that this stock has acted so badly, down again today...  This is a company that I think is going to blow away the numbers... not just because of the botox, but because of that gastric band...  It's a remarkable company...  I've had the CEO on.  What's really ailing the stock?  Again, people fear the drug stocks...  people want to be in some sort of early cycle... they want to get a turn.  And, yes, there was that children's botox scare.  I want to be a buyer of AGN.  I have been right for two years, and wrong for three months, but I'm sticking with AGN.

PHI

66.25

64.60

Philippine Long Distance Tel (PHI)

PHI -  When we did our telco series, I was debating that and, frankly, it got left out... Let's just say, I should revisit it...  Well to bring it up... Memo to staff... good idea...  (buzzer sounds)...

UPS

69.61

68.55

United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS)

UPS -  Aren't you amazed that UPS acts as well as it does in what looks obviously like a terrible recession?  You know why that is?  Because it is one of the best-run companies in America, with an incredible buyback.  And, if we ever get out of this recession, that stock is going to bolt to $100.  Here's the way I look at UPS... I don't think it's going to make any money for a while.  It's not going to hurt you.  I wish it had a bigger dividend.  It's got one of the best buybacks...  I am going to put UPS solidly in the - right now - don't buy, dont' buy...  And, when I feel that these guys (the Fed), then I'm pulling the trigger big time...

Thumbs up - indicates he would buy the stock or, at the very least, not sell the stock.  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Thumbs down - indicates he has said not to buy or to sell the stock, based on his comments  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Back up the truck - indicated by Jim, when he says the stock is so good, that he would do a 'mon-back' on the stock... In other words, this is the sound someone would say to a truck driver, "Come on back... " as he is "backing up the truck" to load up on his cargo.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.

Stumped. - Of the 2,000+ stocks that Jim Cramer has in his head, for which he has an informed opinion, he sometimes comes across a caller with a stock he does not know well enough to opine on...  He then indicates he is stumped and will have to come back to it, after he does some homework of his own on the stock.  This usually occurs during the Lightning Round, when Jim does not know in advance who is calling, or what their stock question is about.

Definitions of key phrases used by Jim, known as "Cramerisms":

Definition:   'Pull the trigger' is Jim's phrase for making the decision at that point to trade - either to 'buy' or to 'sell' (although he usually uses the phrase for buying), as if to say you should feel comfortable enough to make the final decision without looking back...

Definition:   'Ring the Register' is Jim's phrase for selling a stock, and making it a final sale, that you should not look back on.  Put it behind you.

Definition:  'Let It Come In' indicates how you may wait for it to pull back, or have the stock price come down briefly, as your chance (after letting it come in) to buy the rest of your position (i.e., total number of shares you own in that stock).

Definition:  'backing it up' or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's phrase for the metaphor of backing up a truck to load up on a stock by buying it.  'Mon-back is short for the imaginary worker saying, 'Come on back...' as the truck is backing up to receive its load... Notice that we use the little truck icon to indicate where Jim has mentioned this.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.
