JRJC

15.57

na

China Finance Online Co. Ltd. (JRJC)

JRJC -  That's a bad stock and I don't like it.  Sell, sell, sell...  That's a very risky Chinese name and... I have to tell you to sell, sell, sell...  Remember, it's not about friends... it's about money, and that one's not going to make it...

MER

46.25

na

Merrill Lynch (MER)

MER -  John Thain's going to do a good job.  MER is okay, but you know what I'm going to do... Don't buy, don't buy... And he did say this week that he'd need more financing, which is really bullish... and I don't think there's a problem at Merrill Lynch, other than to say... let me be very careful...  that Goldman Sachs (GS*) is better to own than MER.

TTM

15.93

na

Tata Motors Ltd. (TTM)

TTM -  No!...  They paid too much!  We dont like them!...  Don't buy, don't buy... They used to be one of the companies that we recommended in India.  We recommended it after a terrible terrorism incident at $15...  It got to $18-19 and we took it off the table, and we never looked back, and we're not looking back.

BBY

42.89

na

Best Buy (BBY)

BBY -  After that great quarter it did nothing?  Don't buy, dont' buy... I can't recommend that stock.  That was a good quarter and the stock did not react.  I think there are better fish to fry in that sector.  I don't like retail, as people know, but I do like Urban Outfitters (URBN), which is a better play... I know that's clothing.  I like VF Corp. (VFC), and I like Jones Apparel (JNY), because of that bountiful yield.

CHKE

33.24

na

Cherokee Inc. (CHKE)

CHKE -  CHKE is too dicey for me.  Why not buy Target (TGT) if you want that kind of Cherokee, and you like clothes?

TGT

na

Target (TGT)

TRA

38.47

na

Terra Industries Inc. (TRA)

TRA -   No, no.   TRA is not one of my faves.  Remember the pecking order...  Potash (POT)... 52-week high for POT... and then it's Mosaic (MOS)... and then we like Agrium (AGU).  Those are all in my pecking order.  I'm not going down to TRA.  I'm just not...

LUV

12.66

na

Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV)

LUV -  No, no, no.  We don't recommend any airlines on this show, and we're just not going to recommend LUV.  We're not going to start.  I don't like that one.

VDSI

14.81

na

VASCO Data Security International Inc. (VDSI)

VDSI -  No, they missed the quarter...  That stock has been... They're in the penalty box like you wouldn't believe.  It's a 10-minute major penalty for them.  It's a yellow card!  It's a red card!

ING

40.15

na

ING Groep NV (ING)

ING -  Here we go again...  I'm not recommending ING, the bank...  I think that is a very good rate of return that ING gives you... (buzzer sounds)...I think you're safe in ING.  What I mean is your account is safe in it...  I was not recommending ING stock, and I'm not recommending ING stock...

RVBD

12.86

na

Riverbed Technology, Inc. (RVBD)

RVBD -  I blew RVBD!  I thought the company was immune... or, at least, somewhat immune, to the economic cycle.  They came out today and said that they weren't.  My bad.  It just shows you once again...  my aversion to tech is right, and I've got to stick with my discipline.  I was surprised how bad the sales and earnings were at RVBD.  It was disappointing.

SWN

36.38

na

Southwestern Energy Co. (SWN)

SWN -  I like natural gas so much... I think the nat gas, whether it be SWN, whether it be Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK), whether it be XTO Energy Inc. (XTO*), whether it be Apache Corp. (APA), whether it be Anadarko Petroleum (APC)... whether it be Devon Energy (DVN).  They're all fabulous and I would stick with all of them...

A Charitable Trust stock. - An asterisk next to a stock symbol indicates that Jim mentioned it is a stock that he manages within
his charitable trust portfolio.  You can see the complete portfolio
of stocks here >>

Thumbs up - indicates he would buy the stock or, at the very least, not sell the stock.  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Thumbs down - indicates he has said not to buy or to sell the stock, based on his comments  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Back up the truck - indicated by Jim, when he says the stock is so good, that he would do a 'mon-back' on the stock... In other words, this is the sound someone would say to a truck driver, "Come on back... " as he is "backing up the truck" to load up on his cargo.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.

Stumped. - Of the 2,000+ stocks that Jim Cramer has in his head, for which he has an informed opinion, he sometimes comes across a caller with a stock he does not know well enough to opine on...  He then indicates he is stumped and will have to come back to it, after he does some homework of his own on the stock.  This usually occurs during the Lightning Round, when Jim does not know in advance who is calling, or what their stock question is about.

Definitions of key phrases used by Jim, known as "Cramerisms":

Definition:   'Pull the trigger' is Jim's phrase for making the decision at that point to trade - either to 'buy' or to 'sell' (although he usually uses the phrase for buying), as if to say you should feel comfortable enough to make the final decision without looking back...

Definition:   'Ring the Register' is Jim's phrase for selling a stock, and making it a final sale, that you should not look back on.  Put it behind you.

Definition:  'Let It Come In' indicates how you may wait for it to pull back, or have the stock price come down briefly, as your chance (after letting it come in) to buy the rest of your position (i.e., total number of shares you own in that stock).

Definition:  'backing it up' or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's phrase for the metaphor of backing up a truck to load up on a stock by buying it.  'Mon-back is short for the imaginary worker saying, 'Come on back...' as the truck is backing up to receive its load... Notice that we use the little truck icon to indicate where Jim has mentioned this.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.
