BF-B |
68.70 |
na |
Brown-Forman Corporation
(BF-B)
BF-B - A very well-run
distillery. I think it's a
terrific... Jack
Daniels... I've always felt it
was a little bit of a conundrum
why a Jack Daniels would sponsor
Nascar... I always felt that
alcohol and cars don't mix, but
apparently they do at Nascar...
BF-B, I like. I do like Diageo (DEO)
more, and DEO has pulled back to
under $80. That may be the
better buy.

SGP* |

Schering-Plough (SGP*)
SGP* - It isn't done!
Fred Hassen's turned it around.
The Vytorin numbers will be
fine. The acquisition of
Organon is starting to pay off
already. The bears who
sold that stock at $13 and $14
and $15... are going to severely
regret their actions. I
would buy even more, and I've
been buying it and buying it and
buying it for
my charitable trust... and I'm
feeling darn good about SGP*.

|
 |
LSI |
6.12 |
na |
LSI Corp (LSI)
LSI - I'm playing
whack-a-mole with LSI. You
don't want to be there with LSI.
LSI is one of those companies
that is like what I'm saying...
I'm saying buy Eaton (ETN).
I'm saying buy great American
companies. LSI is not one
of those companies. Sell,
sell, sell, sell, sell, sell,
sell! Am I making myself
clear?

LIFC |

na |
LifeCell Corp. (LIFC)
LIFC - No, no.
LIFC's in
arbitrage. You've won!
Take the money and run.
You've gotten the bid.
It's time to go home, and
congratulations!
|
|
 |
F |
8.12 |
na |
Ford Motor Co. (F)
F - Alan Mullaley is
the real deal! You don't
need Tracinda in there to make
something happen. We
backed Mullaley at
Boeing (BA)
and we backed him at Ford.
But, remember, we back him with
the preferred... We're believers
that the
FORD Preferred (F-PA)
- which has given us a
phenomenal return - is still the
better way to play it than the
Ford common (shares of stock)...
|
|
 |
CZN |
10.79 |
na |
Citizens Communications
Co. (CZN)
CZN - Look, that's
okay... but how can I recommend
it, when we have not one, but
two great American companies in
the phone business? We've
got that fella Stevenson, over
at AT&T (T).
He blew the numbers away, plus
he's got the
iPhone
and he's got the big contracts.
And how about our man, Ivan
Siedenburg?... at
Verizon
(VZ*)...
I think he had good numbers with
FiOS...
(buzzer sounds)... I like
VZ* and T.

ATN |
39.72 |
na |
Atlas Energy Resources LLC
(ATN)
ATN - We nailed this
ATN
nine ways to Sunday... You're
talking about the Marcellus
Shale... We know from
Southwestern Energy Co.
(SWN)'s
conference call... we know from
the big drillers' conference
calls... there's oil, there's
gas in them there hills.
You hold onto that one.
It's going higher.
|
|
 |
AUY* |
12.48 |
na |
Yamana Gold Inc.
(AUY*)
AUY* - I'm just
getting my butt kicked!... I
don't mind. You know why?
Because I want a gold stock in
my portfolio. I saw that
stock at $12 today... I'm
sticking with a gold stock.
I'm sticking with AUY*. I
believe that Peter Marrone's
doing a good job... It has been
tough as nails... but you know
what? I've always felt
that a gold stock should be in a
portfolio and, sometimes, this
is the pain you have to take, in
order to ultimately get the
gain.

Thumbs up - indicates
he would buy the stock or,
at the very least, not sell
the stock. We do our
best to interpret Jim's
opinion on stocks, as we
think it is indicated by his
comments during the show.

Thumbs down -
indicates he has said not to
buy or to sell the stock,

|
 |
Back up the truck -
indicated by Jim, when he
says the stock is so good,
that he would do a
'mon-back' on the stock...
In other words, this is the
sound someone would say to a
truck driver, "Come on
back... " as he is "backing
up the truck" to load up on
his cargo. Translation
for buying stocks:
This recommendation by Jim
indicates that, after you do
your own
homework on the stock,
you should feel comfortable
loading up on it, as it is
in a good position to be
bought at this point. |
|
 |
Stumped. - Of the
2,000+ stocks that Jim
Cramer has in his head, for
which he has an informed
opinion, he sometimes comes
across a caller with a stock
he does not know well enough
to opine on... He then
indicates he is stumped and
will have to come back to
it, after he does some
homework of his own on
the stock. This
usually occurs during the
Lightning Round, when Jim
does not know in advance who
is calling, or what their
stock question is about. |

Definitions of key phrases
used by Jim, known as
"Cramerisms": |
|
 |
Definition: 'Pull the
trigger' is Jim's phrase for making
the decision at that point to trade -
either to 'buy' or
to 'sell' (although he
usually uses the phrase for
buying), as if to say you
should feel comfortable
enough to make the final
decision without looking
back... |
|
 |
Definition: 'Ring
the Register' is Jim's phrase for
selling a stock, and making
it a final sale, that you
should not look back on.
Put it behind you. |
|
 |
Definition: 'Let It Come In' indicates how you
may wait for it to pull back, or have the
stock price come down briefly, as your
chance (after letting it come in) to buy
the rest of your position (i.e., total
number of shares you own in that stock). |
|
 |
Definition: 'backing it up'
or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's
phrase for the metaphor of backing up a
truck to load up on a stock by buying
it. 'Mon-back is short for the
imaginary worker saying, 'Come on
back...' as the truck is backing up to
receive its load... Notice that we use
the little truck icon to indicate where
Jim has mentioned this.
Translation for buying
stocks: This
recommendation by Jim
indicates that, after you do
your own
homework on the stock,
you should feel comfortable
loading up on it, as it is
in a good position to be
bought at this point. |
