BSC

10.90

na

Bear Stearns (BSC)

BSC -  You sell it, there is nothing there... It's already above the offer. If you wanna be in JPMorgan (JPM), go buy JPM. Let's reiterate: JPM, Goldman Sachs (GS*), Hudson City Bancorp (HCBK)... those are the three financials we're voting. GS*, we've now caught a quick 50 from the bottom.  I think GS* remains a great name, and I own it for my charitable trust.

TASR

7.28

na

TASER International Inc. (TASR)

TASR -  Here's the thing... I don't care for TASR, I think that...this was one that had the trajectory...as everybody realized that here's a gun that doesn't kill people... but the problem is this:  It's yesterday's story. It already had its move. TASR reminds me of Hansen Natural (HANS) and, more importantly, of CROCS (CROX)... There's nothing there. Sell, sell, sell. The momentum is gone. I don't want you in it.

ITW

53.12

na

Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW)

ITW -  In my series this week about American new technology in manufacturing, I was gonna do ITW as well as doing Emerson Electric (EMR). I felt that they were too well known.   That was probably a mistake.   ITW is a great company. It is really one of the great American manufacturing companies and I would recommend you buy it right here in the $50s... buy, buy, buy!  It's a steal.

AMAT

19.70

na

Applied Materials (AMAT)

AMAT -  I like AMAT not for the semiconductor equipment business, which I don't like at all. I like it for the solar business which, next year at this time, is gonna be more important than the semiconductor equipment, in terms of the evaluation of the stock. In the meantime, it doesn't cost you a thing.  I want to own AMAT.

CPTS

17.69

na

Conceptus, Inc. (CPTS)

CPTS -  This is like a birth control company that's a medical birth control company, not just a pill.  I'm gonna take a pass on it. Don't buy, don't buy... I need to know more about that company, because I don't know how its doing. CPTS... I don't have a good view on it.

DVA

52.23

na

DaVita Inc. (DVA)

DVA -  DVA does kidney failure machines. I think they're absolutely terrific. I will say that a lot of the big medical device companies are worried about government reimbursements. I think DVA saves the system money.  I like DVA.

SNCR

22.71

na

Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. (SNCR)

SNCR -  I lost sight. You know, SNCR was a company that came on the set.  They're terrific guys... They activate all the cellphones... I got too fired up about it. I made a mistake.  I don't want to buy it in the $20s... Don't buy, don't buy... . It's just a cut throat business, it turns out... They don't have the margins.  And I just wish that, frankly, I only activated phones with it, and didn't activate the buy, buy, buy...

JOE

40.47

na

The St. Joe Company (JOE)

JOE -  Here's the thing...I have walked the St. Joe properties... There is a tremendous, tremendous part of land that they own from Tallahassee, almost to Pensacola. Here's the problem... a lot of bugs and not that warm during the winter... and it doesn't have a major airport yet.  They have to open that in Panama City... It happens in 2010.  This is company that just is a big land holder. They're making plenty of land.  I say stay on the sidelines...

KMP

59.47

na

Kinder Morgan Energy Partners (KMP)

KMP -   That's that master limited partnership... (buzzer sounds)... It hit a 52-week high, it's still got a great yield, and I still want to buy it. It pays a huge, huge, dividend... so return of capital... and it goes higher and it's really well run. KMP is for you and for me.

THC

6.38

na

Tenet Healthcare (THC)

THC -  You know, I had such a big gain in THC... sell, sell, sell!   I now feel like the gain's been made. I want to go elsewhere.  I don't trust those stocks ahead of an election.

GRMN

42.77

na

Garmin Ltd. (GRMN)

GRMN -  I free you from that house of pain.  It ain't getting any better my friend. You've got to move to a whole new neighborhood. I put a sell, sell, sell at Christmastime and I never looked back. They do not make a proprietary product anymore. Global positioning is everywhere. Sell, sell, sell. I don't want you anywhere near GRMN...  I want you to sell GRMN.

Thumbs down - indicates he has said not to buy or to sell the stock, based on his comments  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Back up the truck - indicated by Jim, when he says the stock is so good, that he would do a 'mon-back' on the stock... In other words, this is the sound someone would say to a truck driver, "Come on back... " as he is "backing up the truck" to load up on his cargo.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.

Stumped. - Of the 2,000+ stocks that Jim Cramer has in his head, for which he has an informed opinion, he sometimes comes across a caller with a stock he does not know well enough to opine on...  He then indicates he is stumped and will have to come back to it, after he does some homework of his own on the stock.  This usually occurs during the Lightning Round, when Jim does not know in advance who is calling, or what their stock question is about.

Definitions of key phrases used by Jim, known as "Cramerisms":

Definition:   'Pull the trigger' is Jim's phrase for making the decision at that point to trade - either to 'buy' or to 'sell' (although he usually uses the phrase for buying), as if to say you should feel comfortable enough to make the final decision without looking back...

Definition:   'Ring the Register' is Jim's phrase for selling a stock, and making it a final sale, that you should not look back on.  Put it behind you.

Definition:  'Let It Come In' indicates how you may wait for it to pull back, or have the stock price come down briefly, as your chance (after letting it come in) to buy the rest of your position (i.e., total number of shares you own in that stock).

Definition:  'backing it up' or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's phrase for the metaphor of backing up a truck to load up on a stock by buying it.  'Mon-back is short for the imaginary worker saying, 'Come on back...' as the truck is backing up to receive its load... Notice that we use the little truck icon to indicate where Jim has mentioned this.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.
