KR

27.59

na

Kroger Co. (KR)

KR -  I'm concerned about the supermarkets.  The margins are thin.  They're getting squeezed.  I have not like Safeway Inc. (SWY), even though they boosted the dividend and had announced a bigger buyback.  I have not like KR, and I have not liked Whole Foods Market Inc. (WFMI)... Don't buy, don't buy... So, I've got to tell you, I cannot endorse that group.

FSLR

295.90

na

First Solar (FSLR)

FSLR -  Now, I want to see crude down a couple of days, before I go back in.  Actually, Sanford Bernstein put out a very good piece last week that stacked the things up... FSLR remains the least expensive way to play solar, in terms of the actual product.  It is an expensive stock.  It's at $24 billion in market cap, but I am a huge believer that the next quarter is going to be great, and the way these stocks work - it's a momentum stock - is that, if that quarter is great, that stock's going to run, so I want you to stay in, but I want you to buy more lower (in price, from where it is now).

IMAX

7.38

na

IMAX Corporation (IMAX)

IMAX -  I have been wrong on IMAX.  I'm surprised to see that stock be moving so well...  I continue to think don't buy.  A lot of people are playing this as a better way to play movie theater companies, because the movie theater companies are being squeezed at the one place they make the most money... which is at the concession stand.  A very good article about popcorn prices... Oh man, Ad Age?...  USA Today? I read a lot of publications on Monday, but there was a good popcorn piece...  Don't buy, don't buy...

SINA

53.59

na

Sina Corp. (SINA)

SINA -  Now I've got to admit... that's a good one.  I have been staying away from China, because it's too volatile.  I had liked SINA... I had liked Baidu.com (BIDU)... but, right now... don't buy, don't buy... you're going to have to do it without me, because I don't want to get back into China.  It's too explosive, it's too crazy, and I am afraid that I will cost people money.  It's too speculative for me.

FLR

192.60

na

Fluor Corporation (FLR)

FLR -  The stock exploded!  It exploded last week, and then tacked on more points today.  At this point, we've got to say, don't buy...  Because bulls make money, bears make money and hogs get slaughtered.  Don't buy, don't buy... I would say, ring the register on FLR, and cycle back into Foster Wheeler (FWLT*), under $70... and I think you'll do better than just holding onto FLR here.  It's too hot for me... it's parabolic.

IP

28.29

na

International Paper (IP)

IP -  No, no...  I like Weyerhaeuser Co. (WY) more... I like  more... I like Temple-Inland Inc. (TIN) more... and I like Packaging Corp. of America (PKG) more...  I looked at all of these stocks before I pulled the trigger on those three... IP is just not that good.  It's not that well-run... It keeps doing a lot of silly things.  It just bought WY's commodity business.  Ix-nay IP...   Definitely not!

THOR

15.79

na

Thoratec Corp. (THOR)

THOR -  I do not know THOR.  What I will do is now open the research file...  I will now read the research... I will now read the Qs... I will read the stories, and then I will come back...  Memo to staff... THOR...

EMKR

8.38

na

EMCORE Corp. (EMKR)

EMKR -  A fiber optic play... Uh... middling, middling... don't want to go... Don't buy, don't buy...  I just feel like it's an overcrowded segment... (buzzer sounds)... The only one I like of the telco suppliers right now is ADC Telecommunications Inc. (ADCT).  I liked it here before they did a convert deal (i.e., a convertible bond offering).  It crushed the stock.  Now the stock is back.  My recommendation is ADCT.

RRI

24.30

na

Reliant Energy Inc. (RRI)

RRI -  I don't know... a merchant of power.  Not my favorite... I like Mirant Corp. (MIR) more than I like RRI.  But I would steer you toward DYN, which is a company we've liked for a long time.  Every time it goes below $8, we recommend it.  It's above $9 now.  It's got a very interesting situation with natural gas, where it's cheaper than the rest.  Don't go with RRI... go with DYN.

A Charitable Trust stock. - An asterisk next to a stock symbol indicates that Jim mentioned it is a stock that he manages within
his charitable trust portfolio.  You can see the complete portfolio
of stocks here >>

Thumbs up - indicates he would buy the stock or, at the very least, not sell the stock.  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Thumbs down - indicates he has said not to buy or to sell the stock, based on his comments  We do our best to interpret Jim's opinion on stocks, as we think it is indicated by his comments during the show.  Please read his comments to decide for yourself.

Back up the truck - indicated by Jim, when he says the stock is so good, that he would do a 'mon-back' on the stock... In other words, this is the sound someone would say to a truck driver, "Come on back... " as he is "backing up the truck" to load up on his cargo.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.

Stumped. - Of the 2,000+ stocks that Jim Cramer has in his head, for which he has an informed opinion, he sometimes comes across a caller with a stock he does not know well enough to opine on...  He then indicates he is stumped and will have to come back to it, after he does some homework of his own on the stock.  This usually occurs during the Lightning Round, when Jim does not know in advance who is calling, or what their stock question is about.

Definitions of key phrases used by Jim, known as "Cramerisms":

Definition:   'Pull the trigger' is Jim's phrase for making the decision at that point to trade - either to 'buy' or to 'sell' (although he usually uses the phrase for buying), as if to say you should feel comfortable enough to make the final decision without looking back...

Definition:   'Ring the Register' is Jim's phrase for selling a stock, and making it a final sale, that you should not look back on.  Put it behind you.

Definition:  'Let It Come In' indicates how you may wait for it to pull back, or have the stock price come down briefly, as your chance (after letting it come in) to buy the rest of your position (i.e., total number of shares you own in that stock).

Definition:  'backing it up' or 'doing a 'mon-back' is Jim's phrase for the metaphor of backing up a truck to load up on a stock by buying it.  'Mon-back is short for the imaginary worker saying, 'Come on back...' as the truck is backing up to receive its load... Notice that we use the little truck icon to indicate where Jim has mentioned this.  Translation for buying stocks:  This recommendation by Jim indicates that, after you do your own homework on the stock, you should feel comfortable loading up on it, as it is in a good position to be bought at this point.
