USB |
30.83 |
na |
US Bancorp (USB)
USB - You know what?
I made a mistake earlier in the
show... and now I have a chance
to correct it... Someone asked
me, if there are any regional
banks that I'd recommend, and I
said WFC... and, you know
what?... I should have
said USB... USB is an even
better situation of all of them,
with the possible exception of
Wells Fargo (WFC),
and I want to
pull the trigger and buy USB for an
oversold trading rally. I
think it's the best one.

SQM |

Chemical & Mining Co. of Chile
(SQM)
SQM - Socidad Chemica
rocks! It's got the right
kind of stuff that goes into
batteries. It's got
lithium... They also have
fertilizer, so is a win, and I
want to buy some right here.
Remember, we also think that
Chile is a very
capitalist-friendly country.

ABX |
38.55 |
na |
Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX)
(caller thanked Jim for Ken
Fisher's book recommendation -
shown below). Jim
responded: Ken Fisher's
book is the opposite
of mine,
but I always say, I can learn
from everybody, and Ken is a
great manager. He's a
great manager and a great guy.
ABX - Not my favorite in
the group. I would take
Agnico-Eagle (AEM)
as a better holding, because I
think it's got faster growth,
and the fastest-growth stock is
one I've been buying endlessly
for
my charitable trust... which is
Yamana
(AUY*),
which we first recommended at
$6, then it went to $19.
It's pulled back to $14.
At $14, I want to
pull the trigger multiple times...
buy, buy, buy!... Triple buy!...

OTTR |
39.55 |
na |
Otter Tail Corp. (OTTR)
OTTR - No, no...OTTR
has got that DMI Division that
does wind power. You don't
want to get rid of that, have
some horse sense. OTTR,
event at $39 is a buy.
|
|
 |
NOC |
72.30 |
na |
Northrop Grumman (NOC)
NOC - You've got to
buy it. This is down,
again, because everybody seems
to think that Obama's a
peacenik. There is nothing
in his background that indicates
that he is a peacenik. I
want to buy NOC. It's a
cheap stock, it's a well-run
company...Mr. Sugar (CEO)...I
feel very strongly that it's a
buy, buy, buy right here...
|
|
 |
EMC* |
16.49 |
na |
EMC (EMC*)
EMC* - It is
unbelievably, poorly-acting...I
own it for
the trust...It's
driving me crazy...I sat there
today and said, oh man...we're
going to have a tech rally off
of the idea that the market is
oversold...I said that yesterday
off of QCOM...Nothing...So, why
do i stick by it?...Because in
six months, it can start selling
VMware (VMW)...And
VMW in the mid-$60s is when you
add that plus the cash in
EMC...You're basically paying
about $7 bucks for EMC...which
is ludicrously low...I still
want to buy it...But it is very
frustrating.

|
 |
WGO |
13.10 |
na |
Winnebago Industries Inc.
(WGO)
WGO - Winnebago?
Man, WGO is just too hard to
own, man...It just uses too much
gasoline...I can't go
there...It's funny like while
I'm warming up to HOG...that
it's the way to beat the rising
costs of gasoline...but I can
not touch a company...even
though I saw a lot of great
Winnebagos when I went to
unbelievable Cramer-fave,
NASCAR...I don't want to own the
stock.
|
|
 |
CPO |
40.51 |
na |
Corn Products International Inc.
(CPO)
CPO - You know, I am
tempted to ring the register
there...it is going down in
sympathy...no, no
ring the register...sell, sell,
sell...It's at $40 bucks...you
should take your profit...I
don't want to touch it.
|
|
 |
HOT |
46.80 |
na |
Starwood Hotels & Resorts (HOT)
HOT - No, it's a hotel year and
we're not in the hotel game with
oil trading up with gasoline at
$5 bucks...we're getting out of
that game. People are
cutting back on going to
hotels...That is something they
are definitely cutting back
on...we're not going to touch
it.
|
|
 |
AKS |
70.68 |
na |
AK Steel Holding Corp. (AKS)
AKS - Can I just tell
you...AKS, everyone thought when
it went from $30 to $40 it was
about to get taken over...I mean
that's just ridiculous...the
company is cheap...so is
Reliance,
Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co.
(RS)
is cheap...so is letter X,
United States Steel Corp.
(X)...John
Surma (CEO)...we saw him when we
were at Penn State. And
finally, the cheapest of all is
Nucor (NUE)...I
want to own NUE.

Back up the truck -
indicated by Jim, when he
says the stock is so good,
that he would do a
'mon-back' on the stock...
In other words, this is the
sound someone would say to a
truck driver, "Come on
back... " as he is "backing
up the truck" to load up on
his cargo. Translation
for buying stocks:
This recommendation by Jim
indicates that, after you do
your own
homework on the stock,
you should feel comfortable
loading up on it, as it is
in a good position to be
bought at this point. |
|
 |
Stumped. - Of the
2,000+ stocks that Jim
Cramer has in his head, for
which he has an informed
opinion, he sometimes comes
across a caller with a stock
he does not know well enough
to opine on... He then
indicates he is stumped and
will have to come back to
it, after he does some
homework of his own on
the stock. This
usually occurs during the
Lightning Round, when Jim
does not know in advance who
is calling, or what their
stock question is about. |

 |
Definition: 'Pull the
trigger' is Jim's phrase for making
the decision at that point to trade -
either to 'buy' or
to 'sell' (although he
usually uses the phrase for
buying), as if to say you
should feel comfortable
enough to make the final
decision without looking
