ASH

10.35

Ashland Inc. (ASH)

Q:     Ashland (ASH) you recommended it at $8 it is now $10, and they just cut their dividend to 2 ½ %, is it still a buy?

Jim:
Yes, I think it is… this is the kind of chemical stock that I think has bottomed… and I want to buy it here… this is one of them that everyone has left for dead… they think it will never come back… you know what, it may not come back for 18 months… but I am willing to hold that stock until it does. I think that is an inexpensive stock.

DLM

7.00

Del Monte Foods Co. (DLM)

Q:     With so many Americans being unemployed, and consumer spending kind of curtailed based on like travel and big ticket purchases. The one thing that families still have to do is eat right? What is your position on DLM - Del Monte?

Jim:
I haven’t looked at Del Monte recently enough… and you know what… I like to look at the food stocks… we are going to come back with a write up of Del Monte… to see if it fit’s the pattern… I was thinking the other day, we have had a lot of knock off players.. right… I mean we did Tree House which is kind of a knock off this… and we have a lot of companies that I would describe as trade down companies… Rick does not deserve a little cuff that says hey Del Monte is okay… we are going to do a Del Monte write up when we come back… I don’t know whether to be bullish or bearish… but I will sure get to the bottom of it.

BMY*

22.01

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY*)

Q:     I took some advice and finally went with a big dividend pair, what is your take on BMY?

Jim:
Bristol-Myers… Bristol-Myers is one of the best stocks I know.. I own it for my charitable trust… not only that, the dividend is safe… I am surprised that the company can stay independent… Bristol-Myers is this market… it is what you should own… by the way Schering-Plough (SGP), I want to invite Fred Hassen on, even though I know he won’t come… because it is near the earnings… whatever… but tremendous activity in (it)… maybe someone closing out of position… but Schering Plough is also in up mode… but Bristol-Myers … buy, buy, buy.

CPO

30.10

Corn Products International Inc. (CPO)

Q:     What is your take on CPO?

Jim:
You know I just don’t find it… I do not find that stock compelling enough… it has a big run… I don’t see anything proprietary about it…I am going to say don’t buy… I just don’t find anything that makes me feel like you know what… Corn Products not a great yield… I am just getting warmed up, that is an insult to me… I am going to skip Corn Products. I don’t want to buy it.

KR

24.72

Kroger Co. (KR)

Q:     Your thoughts on Kroger's stock?

Jim:
It is the only supermarket chain I am going to recommend on this show… the other ones are all losing shares… and they are all getting their butt handed to them… Kroger, I think, is an absolute buy. I want to buy Kroger right here… my hat is off to them… they have really done a major turnaround. That is one good darn stock, Kroger.

DRYS

15.54

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS)

Q:     I got back in the market in November, I got a new one going. I have owned since then, and sold it, part of it, and I still own it called DryShips.

Jim:
You know what, I have been looking at DryShips… anybody that watches the unbelievably fantastic morning Squawk Box show knows that there is just a mass amount of trading in DryShips early morning… that is because they are getting Baltic Dry Freight (index) numbers in the morning… I get them too… Baltic Dry Freight is now over $900... 900... I would buy DryShips… and I would go back in… this is the first since Nordic American Tanker (NAT)… I would buy Frontline Ltd. (FRO) here… yes, Baltic Dry Freight has bottomed… it is a great place to be… you can DRYS.. or you can do FRO… Nordic American, of course, is not a dry boat… that is liquid… but I like that one too. Front line man… they cut that dividend but I don’t care… it is the right place… that is more crude oil… let’s go with DryShips…  I like DryShips.
