My top five -
Energy Transfer Partners L.P.
(ETP),
Chubb (CB),
Becton Dickinson & Co. (BDX),
Duke Energy (DUK),
and
United Technologies
(UTX)?
Jim:
Okay, let’s see what
Bill has got here…
United Technology a
fabulous diversified
portfolio of
companies, some
military, some
industrial, very
little exposure to
debt, to commercial
paper, I like United
Technologies very
much… Chubb, my
insurer in full
disclosure, unlike
Wells Fargo which is
not my bank and
Chubb is just, just
so everyone knows,
the highest other
than Travelers,
highest best
cleanest balance
sheet company I know
in the insurance
industry… Duke, has
long been one of my
favorite utility
companies, I like
that yield very
much… Becton
Dickinson, fabulous
quarter, great
management, based
right here near
where I live… and
Energy Transfer
Partners, which is a
little similar to
Duke, but Duke’s a
producer of energy,
and Energy Transfer
is just transfers… I
could argue that
that is not enough
diversification
there… but I am so
loath to throw this
out cause it is such
a defensive
portfolio… that I am
going to bless it…
and say, well
played.
Verdict:
YES,
diversified.

My top five stocks
are
Terra Nitrogen Company, L.P.
(TNH),
Nordic American Tanker (NAT),
Coca-Cola (KO),
McDonald's
(MCD*),
and
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners
(KMP),
am I diversified?
Jim:
Oh, let’s look at
this, this is a lot
of accidental high
yielders, I am
liking this
portfolio… let me
explain.. McDonald’s
reports on Monday, I
know the strong
dollar is going to
hurt them in terms
of translation,
commodity costs are
going to help them,
because they have
come down, but we no
Mickey Dee’s, we
love
Mickey
Dee’s… Coca-Cola, I
was surprised to see
that thing down to
$41 today, it has
now become an
accidental high
yielder, not my
favorite, but also
not a bad company…
Kinder Morgan, well
let me just tell
you, KMP is the
class utility I know
of, remember it is a
pass through play,
it does not fine
drill, whatever…
Nordic American
Tankers, hurt by Dry
Ships, Dry Ships I
thought that would
trade with Baltic
Freight, but just as
Nat has been telling
me the balance sheet
of Dry Ships was
bad, which Nordic
Americans is good ,
they did that equity
offering, I am not
crazy about that…
Terra is the highest
yielding fertilizer
company… high
yielding fertilizer,
high yielding
shipping, high
yielding transport
of energy, high
yielding drink
company, and
moderately high with
good .50 cent
dividend food
company… wow… Eric
has got a great
portfolio… I mean I
got to tell you,
that is a great
portfolio, that is
absolutely a great
portfolio.
Verdict:
YES,
diversified.

Here are my stocks,
I have
Walt Disney Co. (DIS),
DryShips, Inc. (DRYS),
Electronic Arts (ERTS),
Gerdau S.A. (GGB),
and
Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV)?
Jim:
Alright let’s get
right to work here…
this is a difficult
portfolio, Disney
well you know that I
think that Bob Iger
is great, I think
that that company is
a great group of
franchises, he is
starting to use my
term, talking about
them being
franchises, and I am
thrilled… Electronic
Arts I had to dish
that the other
night, during our
live show, because
they have failed to
develop new hit
product, and that
market has fizzled..
Gerdau, you know a
steel company, this
is the one that is
part Brazil and part
America, I am not
recommending any
steel companies, if
Nucor came back down
to an accidental
high yield I would
pull the trigger…
Southwest, monster
beautiful quarter,
but I am never going
to recommend an
airline stock on
this show, and never
have… Dry Ships,
well people have
been blaming me, oh
Jim you like Dry
Ships, I hated it
for about 100
points, I thought
with Baltic Freight,
well, no, but it
doesn’t have a
yield… but it is a
shipping company,
steel company,
entertainment
company, two
entertainment
companies, don’t
necessarily like
that, and an airline
company… can’t bless
the portfolio… think
there ought to be a
couple of sales…
hate to end on that
note, Deidre… but I
know you are doing
your best.
Verdict:
NOT diversified.
