LKQ Corp. (LKQX)
Q: What
do you think of LKQ Corporation?...
Jim: Salvaging vehicles
is probably a pretty decent business…
but not a great one here… I am not going
to rave about yours, I am not going to
get all excited… because I like
Copart Inc. (CPRT)…
I like Cobart… I am sending you to CPRT…
I think that is the one… I am a seller
of yours and I am a buyer of Copart.

Celera Corporation (CRA)
Q: I am
looking at Celera Group, you used to
love it, what do you think of it now?...
Jim: I still like
diagnostics… I know that it has been
absolutely hammered… I am not backing
away from the diagnostic business… let
me throw in that I like
Becton Dickinson & Co. (BDX)…
I like
CR Bard Inc. (BCR)…
I like
Baxter International Inc.
(BAX)…
what can I say… I am still a Beethoven,
Brahms kind of guy… but maybe not so
much Bach.

TKC |
12.97 |
Turkcell (TKC)
Q:
Turkcell?...
Jim: I am worried
Vodafone Group plc (VOD)
is encroaching into the Turkish market…
I like this company… there is way too
much competition… the Turks encouraged
competition in price cutting… what kind
of American idea was that… we favor
monopoly and price gouging.

CLNE |
5.44 |
Clean Energy Fuels Corp.
(CLNE)
Q: I just
wanted to get your opinion on Clean
Energy?...
Jim: Well, we said it
was speculative, and boy is it ever
speculative… I got to tell you natural
gas going right thru the floor, like
knife thru butter… Clean Energy, we need
the President… he has got that guy Ramon
Emmanuel, he is in favor of this… we
need natural gas filling stations… I am
now a minority of like a half a person
who favors this… but I am not giving
up…. I like that management… but it is
spec… it is pure spec… it cannot be part
of a regular portfolio… it is spec.

Toro Co. (TTC)
Q: Toro
Company?...
Jim: No, you can’t buy
any of those… you can’t buy Toro… you
can’t buy
Masco (MAS)…
you can’t buy
Fortune Brands (FO)…
you can’t buy
Whirlpool Corp. (WHR)…
anything that is sold at the
Home Depot (HD)
is going lower… it is just a fact of
life.

Annaly Capital
Management (NLY)
Q: Annaly
Capital?...
Jim: Well, you know it
is one of these companies… it is a
mortgage… it arbitrages the mortgage
market… it is just okay… I can’t get
behind it… they need a lot of debt in
order to make that thing work… I am in a
don’t buy mode… I am in a don’t buy
mode.

FGP |
12.55 |
Ferrellgas Partners LP
(FGP)
Q:
Ferrellgas Partnership?...
Jim: I am limited here…
when I hear these partnerships I have
now retreated to just the friendly
confines of
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners
(KMP)…
I am not going beyond the friendly
confines… it is kind of like Fenway if
you know what I mean.

AIPC |
31.97 |
American Italian Pasta Co.
(AIPC)
Q: What
do you think about American Italian
Pasta Company?...
Jim: Yes… monster good
quarter… one of my favorite food stocks…
you have got a winner, Roger… you should
host this show… I should be out there
campaigning for my new mortgage play.

 |
ASTE |
22.73 |
Astec Industries Inc. (ASTE)
Q: What
is your take on Astec Industries?...
Jim: I thought that
Astec was going to be the single way to
play the gigantic road build… because I
believed that we were going to have an
infrastructure program not unlike China…
but it turned out that we only gave $30B
to infrastructure… which is about the
cost of the big dig… plus or minus $10B…
so Astec, even though my friend James
Altucher at
TheStreet.com, where
I am chairman, recommends it… I am
saying no go… it’s time has come… and
it’s time has gone.
