IDXX |
32.36 |
IDEXX Laboratories Inc.
(IDXX)
Q: What
are your thoughts about IDEXX
Laboratories?...
Jim: Let’s see… you know
I have liked this company, it is
veterinary products… it has been just a
terrible, terrible pick by me… it
doesn’t have… remember in this new
environment… remember what I want… I
want it to be near liquidation value… be
completely insensitive to the economy…
or have a big dividend… so therefore, it
is not a buy.

SBUX |
9.58 |
Starbucks Corp.
(SBUX)
Q: I
wanted to know what is going on with
Starbucks?...
Jim: Okay, it does look
like it is bottoming… they just started
instant coffee… but you know what it is
really hard to turn a call in these
names… so I have to wait and see… not
enough time has come back since Howard
Schultz came in… McDonalds took 18
months before you saw any visible sign
of a turn… let’s wait before we pull the
trigger on Starbucks.

BCS |
5.53 |
Barclays plc (BCS)
Q: My big
question tonight is about Barclays PLC?
Jim: Barclays is such a
sell it is scary… I mean like… you know
I have to tell you, if you are thinking
about buying Barclays I want you to turn
me off… I want you to go turn on
Gilligan’s Island, the professor and
Mary Ann could put together a portfolio
than Barclays can… hey, the millionaire
and his wife are much better… who else
was on that island, help me… Skipper.

VNUS |
19.79 |
Vnus Medical Technologies
(VNUS)
Q: I was
wondering if VNUS Medical was a good
stock?
Jim: Oh hold it, that is
another great speculation… yeah, this is
another one, it is closure systems, room
closures, minimum invasion… oh man, it
has had a big run… but as a speculative
play, I endorse it… and remember, I also
like healthcare plays a lot.

 |
PCAR |
26.73 |
Paccar Inc. (PCAR)
Q: I am a
holder of PACCAR, retired…
Jim: Well, PACCAR is
very industrial company, in the
industrials the world is just going
down, down, down… every day is worst
than the previous day… so even though at
one time I liked PACCAR… I want you to
be very careful.

 |
XRX |
5.52 |
Xerox Corp. (XRX)
Q: My
question revolves around Xerox(XRX),
where do you see it going? Can it
survive?
Jim: I think it is dead…
they have a lot of debt to roll over… I
know they are trying real hard, I don’t
want to slam the whole company… but I
would not buy that company… I am looking
very specifically at debt… and when does
debt expire and whether a company will
be able to roll over debt… in this
environment unless you are backed by the
US Treasury, you cannot roll over debt…
unless you are willing to pay a really
high price…. which is what I think that
company will have to pay.

D |
31.69 |
Dominion Resources Inc. (D)
Q:
Dominion Resources?...
Jim: No, I mean Dominion
Resources is okay… you know all of these
utilities took a real hit this week…
which is rather amazing because the
economy keeps slowing down… I like
Dominion Resources here… it is too
cheap… I can’t go against it… it is just
too darn cheap… I think that is a good
thing to buy.

GMXR |
21.07 |
GMX Resources Inc. (GMXR)
Q: This
is speculation Friday, and I wanted to
ask you about GMX Resources?...
Jim: You know we like
that… we said that the break up value
there is substantially more than it is
selling for… I encouraged you to buy
that… remember I also think that oil and
gas has bottomed… I particularly like
BP plc (BP*)…
because of that bountiful yield.

MRK |
28.10 |
Merck (MRK)
Q: Hey
what do you think of Merck?...
Jim: It is not my
favorite pharma, but I like healthcare
so much that I am willing to pull the
trigger on Merck… you know I gotta tell
you… I do prefer
Bristol-Myers (BMY*)…
because it has got higher yield and
better growth prospects… and
Abbott Laboratories (ABT*)
which did a huge double digit boost of
its dividend today… it is clearly the
easiest one to recommend in the group.

DE* |
28.89 |
Deere & Co. (DE*)
Q: Going
to ask about Deere?...
Jim: Deere’s execution
was so sloppy that I was embarrassed for
them… that was a huge mess I was
surprised the stock was only down a $1
when it first started… it is now down
another $1... I do not want to touch
that until they learn to execute… Deere
is on my quick sell list… they let us
down… they were worst than
AGCO Corp. (AG)…
worst than
Monsanto (MON)…
worst than
Bunge (BG)…
but those are, only AG is an equipment
company… Deere was bad… and I cannot get
behind them anymore.
