17.31

Republic Services Inc. (RSG)

Q:     Republic Services?...

Jim:
Why don’t I send you over to Waste Management (WMI)… sell yours, buy mine… mine has got a 5% yield… just downgraded the other day by a very prominent analyst… but we had Steiner on the show a couple of times, he is very pro shareholder… 5% yield with a company that has pretty consistent earnings… I say that is one worth owning.

Q

3.14

Qwest (Q)

Q:     I know that you like AT&T (T) and
Verizon (VZ), but it is only $3.14 a share, the dividend yield for Qwest is a whopping 11%, or .32 cents?...

Jim:
I am not against buying Qwest… but I would put it in the speculative… Verizon and AT&T upgraded today by an analyst that said that the yield is safe… now Qwest did have a good quarter… so did Sprint (S)… these are little guys that I would put in there wild card so to speak… so I am not against buying some Qwest… and I think that the yield is safe… and they are making a nice turn in that company… and I congratulate them because they were down and out, they are off the canvas.

CMI

19.48

Cummins Inc. (CMI)

Q:     Cummins, we bought, unfortunately, several months ago when it was a little less than $75, that was the high...

Jim:
Oh, ouch… remember we don’t care where it comes from, we care about where it is going to… and Cummins because it doesn’t have a 5% yield yet… and is very industrial… I think it is still going to go lower… we had a great trade in Cummins, that is when we went to the Hoosiers, when we went to Indiana… that is when I ripped my Baroni suit on the big engine… ooop, Baroni that probably makes me into a fat cat.. but I think that Cummins can go lower before it goes higher… and I want you to take a little off of the table.

UPS

39.97

United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS)

Q:     My husband and I are both retired, and we have secure assets for a 5+ year horizon, in addition, however, we own a significantly large number of shares of United Parcel Service?...

Jim:
Do you know that I was actually going to do tomorrow?...  Recommend UPS… until I saw the transports… I was talking with the transports with the wonderful and fabulous one that does the 2:00 o’clock show… UPS yields north of 4% now… FedEx Corporation (FDX) hit a 52 week low worries me… you listen to the UPS conference call you can hear a lot of great things… they have done a lot of terrific things in terms of getting the union costs under control… the pension costs under control… they have room to be able to boost the dividend… it is incredibly well-run… and they are doing better because the DHL competition is gone… so I would tell you, I would hold onto my UPS… but you may have to strap yourself in… because it could go down to a 5% yield… in other words, the yield goes up obviously because the stock goes down… but it is a great company.

CLF

13.11

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. (CLF)

Q:     What do you think of Cleveland Cliffs, or Cliffs Natural as they call it now?...

Jim:
No, no, no… if we want to get in that game, BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP) because we have got that great yield and we have got the China factor… which right now everyone thinks that China is on old because it is only growing 8%… what would we do to grow 8% in this country.

PCS

14.16

MetroPCS Communications Inc. (PCS)

Q:     I want to know about MetroPCS Communications?...

Jim:
Yeah, you know I looked at that earlier… I mean if I am going to be in wireless, I am very conservative right now… I am going to go with Ivan Seidenberg (i.e.,
Verizon (VZ), I am going to go with tail-gunner Ivan… I think that he has got that good yield and it is save… and it has got the Verizon wireless, $15, only half owned because of the pod phone… but let’s be really conservative here… let’s switch over to Verizon from any of the small guys… unless we want to play spec.

VZ

CHK

14.46

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK)

Q:     I would like to know your opinion on Chesapeake Energy?...

Jim:
Well, you know it has the unfortunate of being very clean natural gas, which is therefore very dirty according to the new President… so I had felt that natural gas was going to have a resurgence because I was under the mistaken impression that a lot of things that were said during the election were going to come to pass… it looks like it hasn’t…. Aubrey McClennan got margined out, he was kind enough to come on here and tell the truth, and say how hard it was… but I am only recommending integrated oils right now… I am not going to recommend Chesapeake…. if you do want a natural gas play, after the Anadarko find earlier this week… I felt better about Anadarko Petroleum (APC) and Jim Hackett… that would be my natural gas play… but I prefer the integrateds.
