RTN |
36.33 |
Raytheon Co. (RTN)
Jim: Raytheon is a
problem for me, because... if I
want to have a company that I
think has more dividend, I'm
going to send you to
Lockheed Martin (LMT)...
If I'm going to send you to one
that I think has even more,
Northrop Grumman (NOC)...
RTN is neither here nor there,
however, it is all the way down
on its butt... I don't mind
buying RTN... buy, buy, buy... I
just am not excited about it, is
the way I'd look at it...

SCI |
3.24 |
Service Corp. International
(SCI)
Jim: Yeah, this is a
funeral and cemetery company.
Now this is a little dollar
stock... it's a $3-$4 stock. I
like it. It's a great spec
play... Let's call it a spec, so
that, when we do "Speculation
Friday," they know that this is
what used to be called a "blue
chip"... We know that there are
very few blue chips after what
we've been through. Don't
forget... this has been the
worst 10 years in the history of
stocks, which is saying
something. We still come out
every night to try to make sense
of it.

 |
DRI |
35.87 |
Darden Restaurants (DRI)
Jim: Okay, now we
have been behind Darden. We made
a very big call when the stock
was in the mid-$20s... We did
this call on Brinker and Darden,
because we said casual dining is
back... DRI is "Red Lobster" and
"Olive Garden" and boy, did they
have great Februaries and
Januaries... The numbers were
remarkable. I think people are
going out more because gasoline
is lower. The stock is up $5.
I'm never going to recommend a
stock where the stock is up $5
in a given day... But, if we get
a pullback, I am right back
there recommending it again.
Amazingly, "Capital Grille,"
which is the high end, was not
that special, but "Red Lobster"
just blew the doors off the
numbers.

DIS |
18.11 |
Walt Disney Co. (DIS)
Jim: Very tough. It
just moved up 3 points. I do
believe that Disney is an
unbelievable franchise. I worry
about DVDs. I worry about
advertising. I can't get bullish
on every stock here. I would
tell you that I think DIS is not
a buy right here... don't buy,
don't buy... It could go back to
$16, and there I would pull the
trigger...
Price target to buy DIS: $16.00

Q:
(Caller asked about three companies:
RIO, B&G Foods Inc. (BGS),
and
Exide Technologies (XIDE)
Jim: The only one I like
there is RIO. The other ones are
too dicey. I think RIO is fine,
because I like the mineral
plays. But no, the other ones I
can't endorse.

MOT |
4.15 |
Motorola Inc. (MOT)
Jim: You know, after
I heard the takeover talk with
Sun Micro, I thought now, wait a
second... maybe I should get
more positive on Sprint or
Motorola... I can get positive
on Sprint Nextel Corp.
(S),
because I think that company's
in a turn. I do not see the turn
in Motorola... sell, sell,
sell... I do not want to own it.

COF |
14.23 |
Capital One Financial Corp.
(COF)
Jim: It's a credit
card company. They're a very
good lender in credit cards. My
problem is that I can't get so
bullish as to start recommending
stocks if they're in the credit
card business. I'm still very
concerned about the credit card
business and defaults, so I
can't get behind Capital One.
I'm sorry. It's so low, but I
just can't
pull the trigger.
