Jim (cont'd):
Bret:
I am going to
tell you why we like
Hewlett Packard
(HPQ), seeing as how
it has turned around
the PC
markets, I love the
move with EDS moving
into services, and
finally with the CEO
Mark Hurd, he
operates
that company with
surgical procession.
Tell me we are
scoring 6 with HP?
Jim:
I have to tell you,
I look at what Intel
said, which is
exactly what you
confirmed that they
feel that
inventory is in the
trough. I look at
what Hewlett Packard
has done,
consulting, which
reminds me very
much of IBM has
done. And I look at
Mark Hurd, whom I do
believe is one of
the top ten CEO’s in
the
country. And I
completely agree
with you, I own it
for
my charitable trust,
ActionAlertsPlus.com,
and I
cannot believe that
the stock got down
to $25, $26. I think
that we are going to
make money together
on that.
Sabina:
You recommended
selling this stock
on Monday, I do not
agree with you. I am
talking about
Aeropostale( ARO)?
Yes, it is a
retailer.
Jim:
No, I mean look at
that chart, have you
seen how much that
stock is up…
Sabina:
Yes, it was up
about 3% today.
Jim:
No, I mean it has
just been a straight
line, and it looks
like Mt. Everest, I
am worried the other
side
coming down.
Sabina:
But look at the
industry, everybody
seems to… sales were
up 3%, compared to
Abercrombie for
March 34% down… just
online in March
sales were up 70%.
Jim:
You are right and I
am wrong on this
stock… no, I have
been thinking a lot
about it… you know I
lumped in these
stocks… I was at
Hollister yesterday…
I like to go to the
malls just because I
like to
see… and I
incorrectly lumped
in Aeropostale,
American Eagle
Outfitters, and ANF…
and you had the
good sense to break
them down… and you
are right… it is a
much better company…
Goldman just
recommended it the
other day as a value
play at $23... it
has since soared
since then… and I
wish you had
done better
homework… you nailed
it and I did not.
Sabina:
Thank you, the
company has got no
debt.. who has got
that in that
industry… no one.
Jim:
You are right.
