EK |
2.59 |
Eastman Kodak (EK)
Jim: Wow... I did not
know that (caller indicated that he
heard that
Wal-Mart (WMT*)
was dropping all Kodak products)...
I have to tell you... Mr. Haslett, Jim
Haslett... he's the product manager for
EK... who was helpful and was
behind the scenes and did a lot of
terrific stuff with Celebrity
Apprentice... he and I were
talking about the product line...
The product line is good, but the
finances at Kodak are bad. So I
think, at $2 bucks, is there downside?
Not a lot... but I am not a bull on
Kodak... Sell, sell, sell!... There
frankly is a core business that
continues to bleed that's more important
than their excellent printer business.

 |
ARO |
31.95 |
Aeropostale Inc. (ARO)
Jim: Look... I've got
retailers that are down so much that
they look "up" to me... Why would
we buy the one that's the strongest.
I say, ARO... give it a rest. Now,
I have to admit... you say, Jim, you
didn't even like ARO all the way up...
I didn't... So you can argue that
I don't have a standing in this, but I
do know their stock did have a big
run... sell, sell, sell... even though
the fundamentals look good.

|
 |
SJM |
40.10 |
J. M. Smucker Company (SJM)
Jim: It's a great
brand name... it's a great company.
Far be it for me to tell you to get rid
of the great brands and a company that
did well during the great... during the
horrible peanut butter scandal... in
that terrible situation. I think
it's immunized, I think it's tested...
buy, buy, buy... I'm a buyer.

UBS |
13.02 |
UBS (UBS)
Jim: UBS has
stumbled... If you had asked me
two years ago which bank would be a
conservative, terrific bank, I would
have said UBS. I would have said
be a buyer of UBS. I'd rather be a
buyer of
Goldman Sachs (GS*)
right now... even if top-gun trader,
Rick Bensignor is right, and I'm wrong
on GS*... but I certainly prefer it to
UBS... UBS has to get its house in
order.

TRLG |
18.81 |
True Religion Apparel
Inc. (TRLG)
Jim: I have done a
lot of work on True Religion, because
they opened a True Religion next to me
at 14 Wall Street at my day job at
TheStreet.com... and
I have scrutinized the merchandise, and
I cannot believe that this company is
doing this well... but they have a huge
wholesale business, and a giant
international business, and it is doing
very well and, on a pullback, I want to
buy TRLG. By the way, I once gave
one of my daughters a $250 gift
certificate to True Religion...
That was enough to buy the left pant
leg...

|
 |
LVS |
8.65 |
Las Vegas Sands (LVS)
Jim: Okay, listen
Chris... this is a question of style and
tactics, not a question of
fundamentals... You've now taken the
house's money out (by selling half his
position after a gain), so you're free
to play... I think the casino
group's down for another leg... I
want to be very careful... I
want you, tomorrow, to sell another
half. That will leave you with
25%, and that you can let run. You
will have locked in a profit. No
one ever got hurt taking a profit.
I think you're in great shape, and I
congratulate you on knowing how to do
this business. Clearly, this is
someone who has read
Jim Cramer's Real Money: Sane Investing In An
Insane World... now in
paperback.
|
|
 |
HUN |
5.92 |
Huntsman Corp. (HUN)
Jim: I don't trust
that dividend. I think this is a
speculative name. I think that, if
you buy this stock, you should recognize
that it's already doubled from the
bottom and, therefore, a lot of the good
speculation is out of it.... and I am
saying don't buy, don't buy... If
you need more information, BBT's Frank
Mitch is the best analyst on HUN, and I
am going to defer to him, but I don't
want to buy that stock at this level...
