Consolidated Edison Inc.
(ED)
Jim: ED does not have
any "cap in trade"... Remember, we had
Mr. Burke on... I was also very proud to
serve with him at the FDNY... the Fire
Department's foundation... we were both
on the dais together... ED saw this
coming... they had no cap in trade
exposure, so it's good to go... D has a
fabulous mix... Again, I think that has
the least exposure, however, one of the
least exposure of most of the
utilities... ED has a 6.7% yield that I
think is fine... they just got a big
rate increase. I do like
Dominion (D),
even though it has a lower yield, I
think it's a safer one right here.

Jim: I'm worried...
That yield is so abnormally large... I'm
writing the new book, right now... I'm
talking about yields that are too large.
That yield is worrisome. First Energy
reported a really bad quarter this
morning with a lot of questions about
electric growth. Let's stick with
Dominion (D),
okay... and let's stick with
Consolidated Edison
(ED)...
Those are the only two utilities that
I'm recommending.
Duke Energy (DUK)
is all the way down too... Remember, I
like
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners
(KMP)
and I like
Enterprise Products Partners
LP (EPD), if you want more yield.
Those are my yield plays.

Jim: I want you to
take all your money out, that you put
in, and let the rest run. Actually, take
a little bit more out... Here's what I
suggest you do in a situation like
that... You have a $3 basis (i.e., what
he paid)... I want you to take out all
the house's money, and then I want you
to take out another $3, which is a
double. If you lock that in, and then
let the rest run, you locked in a
double, and you can't lose... and
congratulations, our viewers are so
smart.

Hecla Mining Co. (HL)
Jim: One of my
absolute least-favorite mining
companies. It's never really made a lot
of money for people... It's been, I
think, a sub-par performer. If we want
to own mining, let's get the pecking
order... First, we like
SPDR Gold ETF
(GLD)
as the direct play for gold... Second,
we like
Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM),
because of the finding costs, and we
like the CEO very much there... and
that's Sean Boyd, who's been very
honest, and is going to pay a big
dividend... Lowest finding cost is
Eldorado Gold Corp. (EGO)...
And Randgold Resources Ltd. (GOLD)
had a darn good quarter. That is my
complete and utter panoply of gold...
