EMR |

Emerson Electric (EMR)
Jim: I bought Emerson
Electric hand over fist this week!...
for
ActionAlertsPlus.com, my
charitable trust...
and no, I didn't care if the chart is
bad... It has a 4% yield that's
accidentally-high... They did come out
and say that April orders were worst
than March's... which was intimidating
to a lot of people and they were
scared... I'm not. This is a great
company... (plays "that was easy"
sound)... is how we'll look back and
say, why didn't we buy it...

 |
GILD* |
42.33 |
Gilead Sciences Inc.
(GILD*)
Jim: No, no... I
analyzed this... I was writing my
bulletin for this weekend... I send out
a bulletin every week about
my charitable trust...
and we were saying, listen... The issue
with Gilead is that it's the best house
in a very tough neighborhood. It got a
lot of good news this week. Nobody seems
to care. There was a bad about a heart
drug that's not coming true. I
personally feel that Gilead, with the #1
franchise in the world, is going to come
through this period terrifically. But
you have to understand that both Obama
and congress do not care for the drug
companies and they're taking Gilead down
with them, so you have to take the
pain... It's a pain taker... With no
pain, no gain.

BEAT |
18.35 |
CardioNet, Inc. (BEAT)
Jim: Not familiar
with the work of CardioNet. We're going
to have to get back on that one. That is
one that symbol, BEAT... I do not have
the beat... and I will have to come back
next week with CardioNet. Staff...
please note that while you're eating my
oatmeal raisin cookies...

SBUX |
13.00 |
Starbucks Corp.
(SBUX)
(caller says, "The Chinese are drinking
them like it's going out of style...")
Jim: Yeah, but they
got that one out of Tiananmen Square...
I don't know. I personally think that
Starbucks is... I waffle everyday... Is
it
McDonald's
(MCD*)
in 2000, about to make a big turn?... I
don't know. We should have Howard
Schultz on and we should kick it
around... I do believe that my
cappuccino triple venti with skim, wet
was pretty darn good that I had on
Friday... But here's the deal... I think
that SBUX could be in the midst of a
turn, but I'm in "don't buy" mode...
don't buy, dont' buy... right now.

CLF |
23.14 |
Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. (CLF)
Jim: It is... it
is... (down)... and I've got to tell
you, I was scalded by the fact that they
did that equity offering at $21. It was
unbelievable. That took the stock down
$6. That was a chartist who recommended
the stock and I had the misfortune of
agreeing with him. I should have gone
against the chart. But now the damage
has been done... the equity offering is
done... and I think it's okay to buy...
One of the problems with chartists is
that, when the stock goes awry, they no
longer like it. But I do believe it
represents some value but, frankly, it
was a bad call by Monsieur Cramer...

WCC |
25.02 |
WESCO International Inc.
(WCC)
Jim: I think it's too
levered. If I wanted to buy electrical
products, I would send you to GWW, at
$75, but this is not my area of where I
want to buy a stock right now... I'm
hitting, "don't buy, don't buy"...

CMC |
16.14 |
Commercial Metals Co.
(CMC)
Jim: You know
what?... CMC is scrap metal. I'm not
down on scrap metal. I'm going to say
don't sell... I'm going to say don't
sell and don't buy... I know that's
wishy-washy, but I think CMC is the
right stock; I wouldn't mind owning it.
I just don't want to pull the trigger.

 |
SBLK |
5.02 |
Star Bulk Carriers Corp.
(SBLK)
Jim: If you want to
buy those little ones, I'd rather be in
Diana Shipping (DSX),
which has a better balance sheet at
$15... I'd rather be in
Frontline Ltd. (FRO),
which has a better balance sheet at
$21... and, I have done a lot of
homework... I know it's not dry
bulk, it's oil... but I've been back and
forth with (CEO) Herbjorn every single
day about
Nordic American Tanker (NAT)...
and I feel better and better about it,
with its 11% yield. I know that's
wishy-washy because it's not dry bulk,
but why not recommend something I do
trust, and you can buy it up until it's
$36...
