Opening Segment #3:
'Am I Diversified?'
Wednesday, May 27, 2009

In this segment, Jim takes 2-4 callers and asks them to submit five stocks that make up their largest positions in their portfolio.  He then comments on whether or not they are properly diversified...  See callers' portfolios below...

Jim:     When I tell you to own a stock it does not mean that you should throw all of your eggs in one Cal-Maine basket.. even if you are almost positive that it will go up… oh no, my friend, my buddy, my pal… I will not have any of that because diversification is the only free lunch in this business… and that is why we play "Am I Diversified"… What is that all about?… This is where you call me and you tell me your top five holdings… I tell you whether your portfolio is diversified enough… maybe you need to mix it up a little...

Jim:     What do we have… we have got a drug company, Bristol-Myers, with a beautiful safe yield… an
ActionAlertsPlus.com, my charitable trust name, along with Wells Fargo… I picked up a couple of hundred shares right at the bell, down at $24, it could go lower, but I want you to buy it… we got ConocoPhillips, which I believe could be the most undervalued oil and gas name in the world, and I own it for my charitable trust… US Steel, I have to tell you that I prefer Nucor… and Apple, I run it till June 9th, I think this can rally… that is of course, when the iPhone starts shipping in China… do not forget that June 8th is Developers Day… we got oil, we got bank, we got drug, we got steel, we got tech… hallelujah… Fidelity should give Kevin a fund… the Kevin fund.

Jim:     Well, am I diversified?… Lets take a look… Citigroup, my friend buddy pal Vic Pandit (Citigroup CEO) is trying to do a turn around… Sprint, well I already identified that as a speculative play that I like, it is a Telco… Game Stop, just awful quarter… sorry… Nike, I have been buying it for
the trust, man that stock every since it announced its restructuring, it held $50, it is looking good, I call it apparel… and Mr. Softie, who everyone is worried because it looks like they are going to do an acquisition… so what do we have… we have got a Telco, we got a bank, we got a tech, we got an apparel and we got a retailer… another guy who came to play… I am beginning to believe that the game is frankly, that the guys are absolutely just rigging my game.

Verdict:
