Jim:   Of course you should hold MRK!  It is the most undervalued of all the drug companies, save Abbott Laboratories (ABT*), which I own for ActionAlertsPlus.com, my charitable trust... and I think MRK's dividend is safe.  I recommended this stock at this level.  It has done nothing.  That's wrong.  I am am going to reiterate, "buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy"...  That's nine "buys"!

Deere (DE*)

Jim:   No... let me tell you...  I bought some down at $28, and then sold some at $38 for ActionAlertsPlus.com, my charitable trust... but I kept my core position, because I also bought some stock all the way in the the $60s...  This thing has gone down precipitously...  worries about commerical paper, worries about the farmer.  I think that, after AG reported this week, which was a dynamite quarter, it showed you that the Deere problems were behind it.  That's why DE* jumped $10.  But, at this price, I'm bullish... but let's wait for a pullback...  let's wait for a pullback for DE*.

Weyerhaeuser Co. (WY)

Jim:   You know, this company's going to be a Master Limited Partnership.  It's going to be terrific.  It yields 6%.  I recommended it when it was 4.5%...  I recommended it when it was 5.5%...  so, I've got to tell you, my opinion may not be worth a lot on this...   I think that WY is a great investment here, but everyone's worried about it, because of housing, and they're all worried about it because they've got nothing else to worry about.  I think that the yield is safe, and that's what matters... and everyone's worried about the yield (dividend) being cut, and I don't think that will happen.

Philip Morris International (PM)

Jim:   I've got to tell you, I like PM, but I prefer Altria (MO*), which I own for ActionAlertsPlus.com, my charitable trust...  Why do I like MO*?  It's very simple.  It's domestic...  I think the dollar's going higher.  I don't want the overseas exposure that PM offers.  I think MO* is cheaper and a better yield.  What else is there to say?

Jim:   I think there was a bit of a short squeeze on ODP...  I think people felt it was going to be wiped out and it was not...  But I want to say unequivocally...  even though ODP is a little-dollar stock...  it's a $4 stock...  $3.60...  I say, "sell, sell, sell"...  I want you in Staples Inc. (SPLS).  They're the category winner...  buy, buy, buy...  and I will follow up with that next week... [key hint to upcoming feature on SPLS?]
