Goldman Sachs (GS*)

Jim:   Alright, let's do some analysis of Goldman Sachs, which is a stock that I have owned for my charitable trust since inception...  and it's run by Lloyd Blankfein... and, if I had any friends in the world, I might actually consider him a friend.  Now here's the thing...  GS* has a $99 book value.  This stock now sells at 0.8% of book.  I cannot believe it.  These stocks used to sell at 2x book.  I say GS* is going to have...  Look, I said Disney Co. (DIS) was going to have a bad number.  They had a bad number and I said buy it...  GS*, I predict they're going to lose $4 to $5 a share... that's right, $4 to $5 a share... so take book down to $89... take the book down to $94...  take the stock to, let's say to $75.  It will be, at that point, an unbelievable buy.  Do people not think that Goldman Sachs can reinvent itself... do they feel that it needs a proprietary desk to make money... only that it needs CDOs (Collateralized Debt Obligations) to make money?  Mark my words, I will say that, if you can buy a stock for $40 less than
Warren Buffett can, do you mind if I say, you're smart?...

Price target to buy GS*:   $75.00

ABB

11.22

ABB Ltd. (ABB)

Jim:   Keep thinking.  Don't pull the trigger there.  This is one of the few infrastructure companies that I did not like the order for.  They did not deliver.  They were down-sided...  They are... sell, sell, sell...  a house of pain.  They are questionable.  I've got three.  I've got Chicago Bridge & Iron (CBI), I've got Jacobs Engineering (JEC)...  I've got my favorite, Foster Wheeler (FWLT*).   Why do I need to go down the food chain to ABB?

PFG

23.59

Principal Financial Group Inc. (PFG)

Jim:   No, no...   I don't want any company that's in the annuity business.  Lincoln National (LNC), I don't want...  Ix-nay on the Manulife (MFC), the old John Hancock...  HIG, I don't want HIG...  I do not want MET...  And, if I want an insurer, I am going to recommend two...  Chubb (CB), because I think that they are a great property and casualty...  and Travelers (TRV), which did not bother insuring financial instruments.  And that guy, Fishman, who runs TRV...  he's always welcome here, but I bet you he won't come on, because I don't think he takes our call.

INTC

Intel (INTC)

Jim:   I think Intel is having a problematic period.  The CEO was kind enough to be able to tell us this is like the worse market he's ever seen.  I actually prefer... and here's like a Stop Trading moment...  I actually prefer Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD), at $3 bucks, than I do INTC at $13.   So people could say, listen, why don't you buy Intel and put it away.  I will give you a repeat of
Warren Buffett's view...  I want you buy Intel, but I don't want you to look at it until 100 years from now...  100 years from now, I am going to be dead right, and anybody who disagrees with me should put me on the Today Show...
