NVDA

8.60

NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA)

Jim:   You know, I don't like these graphic chip plays... If you want to do graphic chips, I suggest that you go to a speculative name that is right where I suggested to buy a just a few weeks ago, which is Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD)... Now, here's what you need to know... NVIDIA, as well as a series of other tech stocks, have what are known as fantastic charts... they have what is called a "reverse head and shoulders"... and this is a very technically driven market, meaning a lot of money managers are looking at charts and pulling the trigger based on the charts... and NVIDIA's chart is great. I only wish that the fundamentals were good too.

AMD

2.28

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD)

AMD

ESRX

57.48

Express Scripts Inc. (ESRX)

Jim:   I like it... that's a good stock in this environment. It saves companies money because it does in bulk prescriptions... I've also been warming up to CVS Caremark Corp. (CVS), but CVS is not as good as ESRX...

CVS

MGM

10.69

MGM Mirage (MGM)

Jim:   No. No, I want to avoid that. I'm looking at the balance sheet of that company, and I find that it's scary, quite frankly. I also want to recommend it to sell Las Vegas Sands (LVS)... Sell, sell, sell... that's a two for one... The casino business... I read the Las Vegas Sun everyday... and the gambling business is just absolutely through the floor... I don't want anything to do with MGM... nothing to do with LVS... Let's sell, sell, sell those names... I don't want to touch them.

LVS

5.94

Las Vegas Sands (LVS)

See MGM comments above for:
LVS

PETS

15.39

PetMed Express Inc. (PETS)

Jim:   No, no, no, no, no... we don't like the competition in that area... We are fearful that a Wal-Mart could come in there and really just wreck margins... Sell, sell, sell... you do not have my blessing... I would tell you that that is an ix-nay...

WB

5.29

Wachovia Corp. (WB)

Jim:   Yes, yes, yes... Remember, when you buy WB, you are buying Wells Fargo, which I think is going to dominate the mortgage market for some time to come, and nobody likes it. I love situations when the best set up bank in America buys a bank that is not as good, and then integrates it... You've got a winner... I want to buy Wells Fargo through WB which I've been doing, by the way, for ActionAlertsPlus.com... which is my charitable trust that I run...

TMO

30.46

Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. (TMO)

Jim:   You know, under pressure... a high multiple stock... I mean, the stock has been cut in half... that's a little vicious... This is the kind of company that will come roaring back. Why? Because it sells equipment to biotech, which is not economically sensitive. I think you buy TMO right here. I think you'd do well and, if it goes into the low $20s, it'll be a gift.

IMO

33.48

Imperial Oil Ltd. (IMO)

Jim:   No, no, no, no, no... If we are going to buy oil, we are going to buy oils that have a dividend, and yours has a skimpy dividend, so therefore it's limited on the upside if oil keeps going lower. I suggest that you consider any oil company that has a nice yield. The one that I've been buying for ActionAlertsPlus.com is BP plc (BP*). It's got a bountiful yield, and has said that they can cover it, and also has a huge ability to be able to rationalize and get rid of properties. That is my gift to you.

BP*

47.04

BP plc (BP*)

See IMO comments above for:
BP*

ERTS

17.01

Electronic Arts (ERTS)

Jim:   No, no, I don't want to own... they just did a bad job... don't buy, don't buy... they don't have the developers anymore... I don't want to be in that. They didn't create Rock Band... they didn't create Guitar Hero... they've created nothing. I want you to stay away from ERTS.
